The purpose of this document is to showcase the steps for setting up the ZTS Guard Discord Bot. This bot requires team members to enter a separate 2FA code to gain advanced permissions, set up anti-link, create webhooks, make announcements, and other security features; all with a temporary time limit set by the admin.

These security feature prevents scenarios where a compromised team or moderator account could use dangerous permissions to overtake the Discord server, post malicious announcements, send spam links, or ping everyone without additional authentication. These security features also greatly enhance the security in your Discord server protecting your community, and proactively stopping scammers! &#x20;

These features include:\

**2FA Authentication:** All actions require a successful external 2FA verification via an authenticator app or Okta. Even if a team member's Discord account is compromised, malicious actions cannot be performed without the additional authentication layer.

**Admin & Mod Control:** Granular permission management for admins and mods, ensuring each person has only the access their role requires; nothing more, nothing less.

**Announcements:** Restricts announcement posting to authenticated admins, team members, or mods only. Access is time-bound, meaning a compromised account cannot post a malicious announcement without first passing 2FA.

**Anti-Link & Allow listing:** Automatically removes any link posted in the server that isn't on your approved allow list, keeping unauthorized or malicious URLs out of your community.

**Anti-Webhook & Webhook Allow list:** Blocks webhook creation unless the requester completes proper authentication, preventing malicious actors from registering webhooks to compromise your server.

**DM Disabler:** Prevents users in the same server from sending direct messages to each other without being friends first, extending your security posture beyond the server itself and cutting off a common scammer outreach vector.

**Forward Message Moderation:** Blocks message forwarding across your server, a tactic scammers frequently use to bypass channel-level restrictions and spread malicious content.

**Logging:** Comprehensive audit trail covering server changes, bot actions, deleted messages (with raw markdown visibility to help you update AutoMod against markdown manipulation attacks), and Nitro boost alerts to help protect your vanity URL.

**Temporary Permissions:** Grants team members elevated permissions for a defined window of time only. No user holds dangerous permissions permanently, access expires automatically and requires re-authentication to renew.
